LSU: Dead live oak

Spectacular dead oak tree on LSU's campus. Posted by Hello

LSU: Himes Hall

Taken inside the women's bathroom of Himes Hall, I think. I'm sure Cappy will correct me if I'm wrong. Not that he hangs out in women's bathrooms or anything. Posted by Hello

LSU: Archways on the quad

More dramatic archways surrounding the quad. Posted by Hello

LSU: Oak on the quad

We spent a day on LSU's campus. The campus has some beautiful architecture, especially on the older buildings. This is a shot of an oak tree in the quad taken through one of the many archways that face it. Posted by Hello

St. Francisville: Guardian Angel

This statue stands atop a Mason crypt. Posted by Hello

St. Francisville: Cemetery Cross

Like many of the headstones in the cemetery, the name and date had worn away from this headstone over time. Posted by Hello

St. Francisville: Cemetery

While walking around downtown St. Francisville, we came across a Episcopal Church with an old cemetery behind it. Posted by Hello

St. Francisville: Courthouse interior

Inside the courthouse. The windows were enormous, and at this angle I could just barely catch the detail on the column outside. Posted by Hello

St. Francisville: Courthouse

The courthouse in St. Francisville. It was undergoing a remodel at the time, so it was surrounded by construction equipment and that orange plastic fencing they use to prevent erosion. Posted by Hello

St. Francisville: Vacancy

We came across this abandoned building while walking around St. Francisville after breakfast.  Posted by Hello

St. Francisville: Oaks at the Inn

Old oaks with Spanish moss. Also from the garden at the St. Francisville Inn. Posted by Hello

St. Francisville: Statue with flowers

This is the same statue from further away. She has more of the same flowers scattered at her feet. I can't help but wonder if they weren't placed there by some other amateur photographer the day before. Posted by Hello

St. Francisville: Statue with flower

This statue is in the garden of the St. Francisville Inn in St. Francisville, LA. Cappy and I ate breakfast there while visiting over the holidays. They make an excellent breakfast burrito. With crawfish.

I didn't put the flower in her hand. She was already holding it. Posted by Hello

Feeling snappish.

I've been meaning for weeks now to start a photo blog. Now, at last I have.

Enjoy.
